Directions to 39 Pinheiros Altos from Faro Airport
and to Hotel A Colina
(a good local hotel we recommend and sometimes meet friends at)
- Taxi drivers ( plenty at the airport) tend to know Pinheiros and all
know Quinta but if driving or if your driver needs some help then…
- Follow the main road from the airport signposted Faro/Portimao but
when roads diverge follow signs to go over the flyover and join Portimao
and Loule (A22). Don’t follow the signs to Faro.
- Continue on the A22 towards Portimao until N125 Almancil.
- After around 3 miles turn right signposted Almancil. It’s the
first obvious sign to Almancil. This will take you over the flyover
across the highway.
- For Hotel Berry A Colina look out for sign on left to Ludo off this
road ( only a mile or two on).Turn left there and almost immediately
left again to the hotel, there is a sign, tel is (00351) 2899395322.
- If continuing to Quinta drive into Almancil, take the first left hand
turn signposted Quinta do Lago, at traffic lights, centre of Almancil.
- Continue straight on and take left fork clearly signposted Quinta
do Lago.
- Continue on this road to the end, it brings you out to roundabout
No. 1 at Quinta do Lago. This is where the main shopping area is and
is known as the “Q” roundabout and most of the Quinta development
is off a series of roundabouts along the main Avenue Andre Jordan which
goes down to the Ria Formosa and beach.
- For Pinheiros Altos take the last exit at roundabout No.1 i.e. the
“Q” roundabout.
- The entrance to Pinheiros Altos is around half a mile from the “Q”
roundabout (watch out for the two speed bumps as you get near to the
Pinheiros Altos golf course/resort). The security hut does not tend
to be manned during the day but is at night and some other times. They
simply want to know where guests are staying.
- In order to get to No. 39 you go up the hill (past the clubhouse on
the right) and keep going to the top, bearing left (the proposed health
spa development is on your left as the hill levels out) and Casa do
Chave (the house with a hedge but without a wall at the front) is on
the right hand side. It is, along with the others in this road, parallel
to the 6th fairway of the course and the telephone number is (00 351)
289 396 049. Miss out numbers in brackets when in Portugal.
